Coimbatore: M Thahaseena, a Class XI student of CCMA Girls Higher Secondary School on Raja Street, wore the uniform and stepped out of her house after a gap of nine months to meet her classmates and her teacher P Sangeetha at the school, before visiting handicraft makers in the locality. With four of her classmates, Thahaseena is doing a project on ‘Economic Importance of Handicrafts’ as part of the school education department’s specific concept-oriented project experience (Scope) initiative.
As many as 70 teams in 10 schools in the district are doing projects in seven subjects - Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Commerce and Economics.
