OGLESBY – Abigail Thompson of McNabb, daughter of Sarah Morgensen and David Thompson, earned her associate’s in arts from Illinois Valley Community College May 22 while also receiving her high school diploma from Putnam County High School. Once Thompson completes summer courses at IVCC, she’ll also earn an associate’s in science.
Thompson participated in National Honor Society and Interact Club at PCHS and was a member of Sigma Kappa Delta, the English Honor Society for two-year colleges.
She will transfer to Bradley University to major in psychology with the hope of becoming a counseling psychologist.

Portland, Oregon - A U.S. Department of State employee and his spouse pled guilty Thursday to one count of conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit goods. The guilty pleas took place before U.S. District Judge Michael J. McShane, who has scheduled sentencing for March 18, 2021, for both defendants.
Acting Assistant Attorney General Brian C. Rabbitt of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division, U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams of the District of Oregon, and Deputy Assistant Secretary and Assistant Director Ricardo Colón of the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), made the announcement.
