welcome back. it s data download time with facebook ceo mark zuckerberg testifying before congress this week. yes, that happened this week. u.s. voters had good reason to pay attention because we re online a lot. data from our friends at simmons research shows a full 73% of americans use social media. 45% went online more than 25 times last week alone, and that doesn t count checking email. 43%, by the way, did some form of on-line banking in the last month, but americans hold deep concerns about what happens to our personal information online. 43% of those surveyed said once a piece of personal information becomes available online there s nothing they can do about it, but a majority of these folks, 63% of them, wish there was more control that they had. americans of different age groups have different concerns about the online privacy. 47% of millenials say the
bank of america so far will not comment on this reported attack. but it did release a statement saying, quote, on-line banking is and has been available, although some customers may experience occasional slowness. we are working to insure full availability. is there more to it? katherine herrage live in washington. what do we know about this? it sounds like one of those attack on services sort of deals? that s right. according to the cyber intelligence firm, flash point partners e-mail traffic peaked after the threat was posted on-line. this warning coming from individuals claiming to be affiliated with the armed wing of hamas, palestinian sunni islamist group, web postings threatening attacks on bank of america and the new york stock exchange to retaliate fort amateurist youtube video. the posting amounted to a how to guide for cyber novices to denounce a denial of services. it did not dump or compromise
