A 49-year-old man died in an accident on the C-34 road yesterday.
According to the Namibian police’s Erongo commander of community affairs, Inspector Ileni Shapumba, the accident took place on the outskirts of Henties Bay.
A car collided with a truck that was attempting to make a U-turn, ending under its trailer.
“It is alleged that a 23-year-old Zimbabwean national, the driver of a Freightliner truck with trailer, took a wrong route from Walvis Bay en-route to Zimbabwe.”
While he was driving outside Henties Bay, he received a call that he had taken the wrong road and that he must turn back to Swakopmund.
