Ronald J. Plourde
WATERBURY – Ronald J. Plourde, age 84, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Saint Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Beverly A. (Sielski) Plourde.
Ron was born on Sept. 13, 1936, in St. John, Maine, son of the late Gerald and Rena (Dube) (Plourde) Gagne, and the stepson of the late Omar Gagne. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. In his early years, Ron worked for Alloy Foundries for over 15 years, until he began to study the art of furniture upholstery. For over 45 years, Ron owned Upholstery by Ron Fredericks, located on West Main Street in Waterbury for over 35 years. He continued to work into his 80s, having relocated to Watertown. Talented and meticulous, his customers were happy to see his name on their furniture.
