Muscat: The Shura Council on Tuesday referred a proposal for a new law called Oman Zakat Law and a unified draft law system for combating commercial fraud in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries for their next session.
The Shura Council’s office reviewed support of the continuous coordination between all the country s institutions.
During the meeting, the mechanism of a partnership between the Council and the government in the next phase in national issues was discussed, and the mechanism for conducting follow-up tools was emphasized as stipulated in the Oman Council Law.
The office also discussed with the heads of the permanent committees a number of issues, the most prominent of which is related to the importance of the Oman Council practicing its legislative powers with regard to reviewing laws and the importance of submitting them to the Oman Council in accordance with what was specified by the Basic Law of the State issued by Royal Decree No.
