Oman continues closing land borders till Feb 8  31 Jan 2021 - 19:37 QNA Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman decided Sunday to keep its land borders closed until February 8, 2021. The Supreme Committee tasked with tackling developments resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic has decided, as per recommendations of the specialized technical team which is following up the spread of the new COVID-19 strain, to keep the Sultanate s land borders closed for one more week till 6 pm of Monday, February 8, 2021, the Omani News Agency (ONA) reported. The Sultanate received Sunday 100,000 doses of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine from the Republic of India. Omani Health Minister Dr Ahmed Mohammed Al Saidi stated that the Oxford-Astrazeneca vaccine is effective, safe and its results have been laboratory confirmed, adding that it is important to have an interval of at least four weeks between the first and second dose of the vaccine.
