Typical Spring Weekend Weather Could Lead to Storms Next Week

By Terry Leahy May 22, 2021 WOWT 6 News meteorologist Mallory Schnell says we should see more breaks in the cloud cover as Saturday progresses, with highs in the lower-80s. She says a few showers or storms are possible Saturday afternoon, primarily southeast of the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro area, especially in northwest Missouri and southwest Iowa. Saturday winds will be southerly 10-15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Mallory forecasts partly to mostly cloudy skies Saturday night, with temperatures falling back into the mid to upper-60s. She expects similar Sunday conditions with partly sunny skies and a chance of rain. Highs again into the 80s.

Colder Spring Weather Continues in Eastern Nebraska and SW Iowa

By Terry Leahy Apr 20, 2021 A Freeze Warning has been in place overnight into Tuesday; Another Freeze Warning will run from ten p.m. Tuesday until nine a.m. Wednesday. These warnings are for portions of East Central and Southeast Nebraska and Southwest Iowa, including the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro and Lincoln. By Terry Leahy Jan 28, 2021 The Better Business Bureau reports seven cases in the past week of people coming to the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metro area to pick up puppies they ve purchased only to find they are victims of a scam. There are reports of buyers losing up to 15-hundred dollars. The Better Business Bureau tells 6 News anyone in the market for a pet should push the seller for a live video meeting.  

Snow Preparations for SE Nebraska And SW Iowa | NewsRadio 1110 KFAB

By Terry Leahy Jan 25, 2021 The National Weather Service has a Winter Storm Warning in place for large parts of southeast Nebraska into southwest Iowa until 3 a.m. Tuesday. This includes the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro and Lincoln. Heavy snow expected, with total snow accumulations of 8 to 15 inches. Snow will affect the morning commute and will heavily impact the evening commute. Travel will become difficult to impossible, according to the weather service, with areas of blowing snow significantly reducing visibility. The heaviest snow is expected from midday to 7 p.m. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
