This song was nominated for Best Original Song at the 65th Annual Academy Awards in 1993, but lost out to A Whole New World from Aladdin.
The song was written by David Foster and Linda Thompson, a former beauty pageant winner who had previously dated Elvis Presley and was married to former Olympian Bruce Jenner (now known as Caitlyn Jenner), before marrying her songwriting partner Foster in 1991. They were both nominated for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture.
This was the third single from this movie’s soundtrack. It debuted at number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart when her other two songs, I Will Always Love You and I m Every Woman were still in the top ten.
