After Ernest Udeh Jr. shattered the backboard at Dr. Phillips with 7:37 left in the 1st half, the Dr. Phillips Panthers shattered the Oviedo Lions playoff hopes, outscoring them 53-11 for the remainder of the game en route to a 67-21 win in the Class 7A, Region 1 quarterfinals.
When Udeh demolished the backboard, Dr. Phillips was up 14-10 in the 2nd quarter. The rest of the game took place at Olympia High School and play resumed following an hour and five minute delay. Udeh missed the remainder of the game after having to get stitches on his leg.
