The raging gas explosion yesterday rocked the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, killing two persons.
An eyewitness told our correspondent that yesterday’s explosion occurred around 11 am at the Marquee Event Centre within the presidential library.
It was further gathered that technicians were topping up gas into the air condition of the event centre when it exploded.
A worker who spoke with
Daily Trust said two people were killed in the explosion.
But the Managing Director at OOPL, Vitalis Ortese, while confirming the incident, said only a technical vendor died with his assistant sustaining injuries.

The explosion occurred when a pair of technical vendors were conducting routine servicing of the air conditioning units.

One person has been confirmed dead in a gas explosion that occurred at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The incident occurred around 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
An aide to former President Obasanjo, Atom Lim, who confirmed the explosion in a statement on Facebook, said there was a fatality in the incident while one other victim was rushed to the hospital.
The victim in the hospital is said to be in a critical condition.

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, on Wednesday, has cautioned against the payment of ransom to kidnappers.
He, however, submitted that the government must develop means to deal with kidnappers and bandits heavily in place of ransom payment.
He noted that the governments of both President Goodluck Jonathan and Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) paid ransom to kidnappers but they denied it.
Obasanjo said he does not believe in payment of ransom to kidnappers and bandits, saying it encouraged criminals indulging in the act.
The former president berated any government that pays ransom, describing them as follies.
Obasanjo spoke on Wednesday at his Penthouse residence within Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State, while playing host to members of Tiv professionals Group led by Prof Zacharys Anger Gundu.
