NPFL: Hosts Nasarawa United hold visiting Kano Pillars

Nasarawa United Football Club on Sunday drew 1-1 with visiting Kano Pillars Football Club in a Day three match of the 2020/2021 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) match at the Lafia Township Stadium. Naija247news reports that the first half saw some fine display of skills and scoring opportunities mostly from the home side but with no goals as reward for these efforts the first half ended 0-0. Kano Pillars went ahead on resumption (46th minute) through substitute Nwagwa Nyima, who capitalised on the home side’s poor defending to score. NAN reports that Nasarawa United failed to equalize in most of that half but when it looked like they were going to lose their first match of the season, Adamu Hassan, latching on a pass from Abubakar Abdullahi, slotted the ball into the net for the home team’s needed equalizer in the 83rd minute to make it 1-1 till the final whistle.

Health director, NYSC refute report of COVID-19 in Nasarawa Orientation camp

(NAN) Dr Ibrahim Adamu, Director, Public Health, Nasarawa Ministry of Health has refuted reports alleging that four National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members currently at the orientation camp in the state, tested positive for COVID-19. Adamu made this known to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia on Friday. NAN recalls that a national daily newspaper had published a report on Friday, alleging that four corp members tested positive for COVID-19 and named the Director as the source of the information. Adamu debunked the report, saying that no such information came from him. He said that the state government would have taken steps already to prevent further spread of the virus in the camp if any positive case was recorded.

He gave the charge on Sunday while preaching a sermon on soul winning to attract the unsaved to God by reaching out to the lost. In the sermon, “Unveiling the breakthrough power of love’’, the cleric said “one of the cardinal ways of demonstrating your love for God is by winning souls into the kingdom of God through actions that will return souls to the kingdom. “God is happy when sinners return for forgiveness,’’ he stressed.
