Igangan community was thrown into mourning on Saturday while a prominent farmer, Dr Fatai Aborode, was being buried in his uncompleted house along Apodun Road, Igangan, Oyo State.
Aborode, the Chief Executive Officer of Kunfayakun Green Treasures Limited, was killed near his farm along Apodun village, Igangan, by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the farmer and his manager, Bolanle Olanrewaju, were waylaid around 5pm on Friday while on a motorcycle on their way home.
Olanrewaju, said, “Two gunmen came out from the bush and forced us to stop. Two others blocked us at the back to ensure that we did not escape. Behind us was another motorcyclist with his wife on board. They were also stopped and we were all ordered to come down from the motorcycles.

FOUR gunmen, at about 5:50 p.m. on Friday, December 11, killed politician, Alhaji Fatai Aborode, at Igangan area in Ibarapa North West Local Government Area of Oyo State.
It was gathered that Aborode was in Igangan to inspect his farm when the incident occurred.
He was shot just as he was leaving the farm with his manager on a motorcycle.
It was unclear if the hoodlums robbed the victim.
After being shot, Aborode was rushed to the hospital in Igbo-Ora, where he gave up the ghost.
Confirming the development in a statement on Saturday morning, the state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Olugbenga Fadeyi, said the victim was attacked in Igangan by four suspected armed robbers.
