Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde said at least seven road projects, totalling 128.5 kilometres, which were flagged off by his administration in 2020, will be completed and commissioned this year as he reassured the people that he will continue to put their interest first.
He gave the assurance in his address during an inter-faith service to usher in the new year 2021 for civil and public servants in the state, which was organised by Office of the Head of Service in the state and was held on Wednesday at the state secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.
The Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria, Ogbomoso Diocese, Right Reverend Ademola Moradeyo, and the Chief Imam of Oyo State Government House Mosque, Alhaji Ahmad Rufai-Bello, delivered sermons on the occasion, which was graced by top government functionaries, and labour leaders.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, yesterday, renewed the determination of his administration to complete several road projects, initiated by him, which include the Lekan Salami Stadium remodelling, bus terminals, bike and bus terminal at Agodi Gate, Ibadan, and the rebuilt Akesan market, Oyo town.
The governor, while speaking during the interfaith programme held at the state secretariat, listed the road projects billed for inauguration, which are the 65km Moniya-Ijaiye-Iseyin road; the 21km Airport- Ajia-New Ife Express road with a spur to Amuloko; the 12km Apete-Awotan-Akufo road; the 3km Under G Stadium-LAUTECH-2nd Gate road; the 5km Gedu-Oroki-Sabo-Asipa road; the 12.5km dualisation of Challenge-Odo Ona Elewe-Apata road and the 10km Saki Township road dualisation.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has approved payment of 13th month salary for civil servants in the state in the spirit of yuletide.
He made the disclosure when he spoke during a get-together organised to mark his 53rd birthday celebrations at Saki town on Oke Ogun axis of the state on Friday.
Makinde stated that the bonus would be paid next week, having paid December salary a few days to this year’s Christmas.
The governor, however, lauded civil servants for their support for his administration since he took over the reins of power in the state on May 29, 2019.

Swears in Ismaila Lawal as commissioner, moves Sangodoyin to Works
Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, yesterday, commissioned about 33 operational vehicles and 396 motorcycles for the state’s Western Nigeria Security Network, code-named Amotekun Corps, to ensure effective security coverage of all nooks and crannies in the state.
The ceremony, which took place at the premises of the Oyo State House of Assembly, had in attendance the deputy governor and other top government functionaries.
