The Olney City Council discussed whether to use the money earned from the sale of 10 foreclosed lots to fund a building permit department that could expedite approval and inspections for the building boom expected in the City this year.
A complaint about a neighbor stealing water turned into drug and burglary arrests for an Olney man and two women, Olney police reports show. On March 16, Olney Police Detective Dustin Hudson was dispatched to 1007 W. Payne to investigate a call about water theft and discovered a water hose leading from the house into the backyard of 1005 W Payne, according to a police report.
The City Council approved a first reading of amendments that bring the city fire code in line with the international fire code but most of these changes would not affect current business owners unless they modify the interior, disturb the structure or change the occupancy type of their buildings, said Olney Police Detective Dustin Hudson, who also handles code enforcement.
