Spoiled Right: Delaying Screens and Giving Children What They Really Need, has seen an increase in interest on her Screen-Free Parenting Facebook page from members around the world.
“I’ve yet to hear from a family who tried screen-free Saturdays and did not like it,” says Meghan. “What we often hear from parents is that they feel screen-time has taken over their family life and they’re looking for ways to make space and carve out some time.”
Rachel Franz, who runs the Children’s Screen Time Action Network and a Screen-Free Saturdays Facebook page tells a similar story. In 2019, their Screen-Free Week event was celebrated by 100,000 people around the world while Screen-Free Saturdays are gathering momentum.

While 2020 upended many of our plans, it also spurred some people on to make a change in their lives. While we may not be free of Covid yet, the experience has taught many to grab opportunity when it comes, to stop putting things off for a rainy day and to make the most of every moment, every experience, and every important person in our lives.
With this in mind, we spoke to several people to find out what the coming year will mean for them and why 2021 is the year they will make something happen.
