Euclid satellite on a mission to unlock the secrets of dark matter

The European Space Agency (ESA) is launching the Euclid satellite from Cape Canaveral in Florida on Saturday 1 July. The probe is going to study the expansion of the universe over the last ten billion years. It is designed within the walls of Thales Alenia Space in Turin, Italy, and Cannes, South France. Its mission is to map the universe, thanks to a telescope one meter in diameter, and understand its evolution over billions of years. More than 2,500 scientists around the world will be able to access the database distributed by the probe, starting in 2029.
