Apr. 13—It was an event top-ranked Oklahoma had led the country in all season, but on Thursday the Sooners got off to an uncharacteristic start on the uneven bars.
The Red Rocks defeated both defending champion Oklahoma and rival UCLA in the semifinals of the NCAA women’s gymnastics championships, earning a berth in the national championship meet.
UCLA’s Jordan Chiles, a Prairie High grad who trained at Naydenov, won two national titles at the NCAA women’s gymnastics championships on Thursday night.
