COLUMBIA BASIN – District playoffs in both baseball and softball have started across the Columbia Basin, with local squads looking to qualify for their respective state tournaments.
EPHRATA – Monday’s Central Washington Athletic Conference doubleheader matchup between Othello and Ephrata saw each team pick up a win, with the Huskies winning the first game 6-3 before the Tigers claimed a 6-3 win of their own.
QUINCY The Ephrata Tigers softball team used strong hitting and strong pitching to gain wins over the Quincy Jackrabbits, 23-0 and 21-2, in a doubleheader Tuesday at Quincy High School.
Ephrata Head Coach Heather Wood said the Tigers have been hitting well all season.

SELAH – After pulling off a three-run comeback to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh inning of Tuesday’s Central Washington Athletic Conference consolation bracket final, the Ephrata Tigers were unable to retake a lead over East Valley (Yakima) and fell 6-5 to the Red Devils.
Sophomores KK Hector and Jaemyson Durfee both hit home runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at five, but an East Valley run scored in the top of the eighth inning allowed the Red Devils to move on to the 2A District 5/6/8 Crossover.
