WALKING to school is beneficial for parents as well as children. That was the message issued to coincide with annual Walk to School Week, organised by the Living Streets charity. Parents across Keighley are being urged to leave their cars at home wherever possible and instead take their children to and from school on foot – boosting their health and cutting traffic congestion and pollution. Former primary school teacher Oli Ryan, of education resources company PlanBee, has offered advice as part of the week. “Enjoying the mental and physical health benefits of walking are right at the heart of Walk to School Week,” he said.
