Although Willmar City Councilors were excited about proposals for a new and improved community center, they were not impressed with site proposals for a new city hall presented at a recent council work session. City staff will continue to work with BKV Group to find a city hall site that is appealing to the council.

A speed survey conducted by the Willmar Police Department showed that the majority of drivers in Willmar surveyed either stay at or below the speed limit or drive one to 5 miles per hour above the speed limit.
The main issues of concern raised by the residents of Second Street Southeast in Willmar during a community meeting Monday were the removal of the sidewalk on the east side of the street and parking. Residents at the meeting support the elimination of street parking in the reconstructed area, and they want the street to remain open to two-way traffic. During planning, a change to one-way traffic has been discussed. The loss of the sidewalk on the east side of the street seemed to come as a surprise to the residents.
