The largest payoff in the five-race sequence featuring races from Laurel Park, Santa Anita Park and Gulfstream Park and an industry-low 12-percent takeout was $9.20.
Friday s sequence kicked off with Wonderwall, a 3-year-old filly from the barn of leading trainer Claudio Gonzalez, winning Laurel s eighth race followed by Candygramformongo winning Laurel s ninth race.
The Stronach 5 moved to Santa Anita Park for its third race. Reddam Racing LLC s That Corey, a 3-year-old son of Square Eddie who finished second at Del Mar last time out, ran away from nine others on a mile turf course to break his maiden.

Friday s Stronach 5, featuring an industry-low 12-percent takeout, will feature five competitive races from Gulfstream Park and Laurel Park, including two on the turf.
The Stronach 5 kicks off at 3:49 ET with the eighth race from Laurel and concludes with Gulfstream s 10
th race at 5:10 ET.
Handicappers from Gulfstream and Laurel have put together an All-Star Stronach 5 ticket of $108.
Laurel s eighth race begins the sequence. The six-furlong optional allowance event brings together Trunk of Money, a winner of three consecutive races for trainer Scott Lake, and Fille d Esprit, a winner of her last three and six of her last seven. John Robb trains.

Laurel s eight race is a very competitive allowance event for Maryland state-bred or sired 3-year-olds and up. Stone Courageous is the tepid 3-1 morning-line favorite. Dark Hollow Farm s Toy, trained by Michael Trombetta, comes into the race off a seven-month layoff. After breaking his maiden in his sixth attempt, he won an entry-level allowance event in May despite getting steadied.
