PANAMA CITY BEACH Local officials have approved more than $1.6 million in upgrades to more than a dozen city streets.
The money will fund the 2021 Street Resurfacing Project, an annual effort by local leaders to improve aging roads across Panama City Beach. The project was awarded to C.W. Roberts Contracting during a City Council meeting on April 8. We try to resurface every city street . at least one time in a 20-year period, Councilman Paul Casto said. Sometimes, we don t meet that goal, but we re doing better now than we used to.
Casto said that the roadway improvements started about five years ago, when the city hired an independent consultant to grade every street across the Beach. They were alphabetically categorized from A to F, with A streets in the best shape.
