This month, 150-year-old French pâtisserie chain Ladurée is selling its vegan pastries, macarons, and hot teas out of vegan eatery Plant Food + Wine in Venice, CA. The eatery, owned by vegan chef and entrepreneur Matthew Kenney, opened its doors as a pop-up retail shop as a way to continue to serve the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. There, patrons can shop for the Ladurée desserts Kenney helped create, along with home scents, key rings and bags, and a limited-edition Ladurée Christmas box.
Ladurée goes vegan
Last year, Ladurée partnered with Kenney to revamp its Beverly Hills location to be fully vegan. The bakery now serves vegan macarons in a variety of flavors, including Vanilla, Pistachio, Chocolate, Rose, Salted Caramel, and Lemon, along with croissants, palmiers, meringue-topped tartlets, and other classic French pastries. It also offers a vegan menu with dishes such as whipped cream-topped French toast, egg-free omelettes, and Croque-Monsieur sandwiche
