Treats for ICU staff at Royal Oldham Hospital from local cat lovers Date published: 14 January 2021
The goodies were delivered this week to the unit
The hard-working staff at the Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Oldham Hospital have received treats thanks to a fund-raising effort at Oldham Cats Rescue.
The goodies were delivered this week to the unit after cat lovers made donations to the charity, which looks after and rehomes cats and kittens in the area.
Davina Hanes, assistant manager at Oldham Cats Rescue said: The NHS are under so much strain and the ICU Team work tirelessly, we re indebted to the time, care, dedication and compassion they give. It was just nice to give a little something back to the frontline staff who are simply amazing.
Oldham Cats has been rescuing cats and kittens in the town since 1996
Oldham s pet-loving Mayor has made a £500 donation to the town’s unsung cat rescue centre to help with vets fees for sick animals.
And councillor Ginny Alexander pleaded with owners to have cats neutered or spayed to help stop them wandering, fighting and unwanted kittens being abandoned.
Oldham Cats has been rescuing cats in the town since 1996 before moving to Middleton in 1998.
They now have an admissions unit where cats have to have a seven-day holding period.
No cat or kittens are allowed to proceed to any rehome unit until they have been fully monitored.
