WELLFLEET The Zoning Board of Appeals on Thursday denied special permits for a proposed contractor s yard with bulk storage on Route 6.
In its decision, the board cited a lack of project information and potentially adverse impacts to neighboring lands, including property owned by Cape Cod National Seashore. The project at 1065 U.S. Route 6 also drew significant concern from residents, about 100 of whom attended the April 8 hearing that was conducted via Zoom.
The applicant, Great White Realty, sought special permits from the board to use the 1.3- acre site as a contractor yard with bulk storage and light industrial use.
Great White Realty bought the property on Jan. 8 and quickly began removing trees, moving topsoil and depositing sand at the site.
