SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - Central Coast fire crews battled a brush fire that broke out along Highway 101 at the Cuesta Grade late Saturday morning.
The fire was reported around 11:59 a.m. off the northbound side of the freeway near TV Tower Road between Santa Margarita and San Luis Obispo.
The first engine to arrive at the scene reported finding a one-acre fire with a moderate rate of spread. By 2 p.m., CAL FIRE reported the fire had spread to 20 acres where it was being held and was 10% contained. At 2:46 p.m.. the fire was considered 35% contained and all assisting aircraft were dismissed from the scene.
