KATHMANDU, Sep 1: Nepal Police has sent a team of police officials including the one from Central Investigation Bureau to garner further information as part of the investigation on 61 kg gold smuggled into the country from Hong Kong, on Thursday.
The final destination of the smuggled gold is believed to be India, according to the Nepal Police. The two Chinese nationals arrested on Friday were identified as Li Jialin and Li Fuyan.
The smuggling was conducted by an organised gold smuggling syndicate, code-named ‘Gold on the Highway’ on two oil tankers and a truck which were travelling separately from Mao, Manipur, stated PIB in a release.
