Removing snow from hydrants is now an issue in village In Gays Mills
GAYS MILLS - The Gays Mills Village Board was a rather mundane affair last Monday night until the last item on the agenda–then it got contentious.
All it said on the agenda was ‘Snow Removal-Fire Hydrants.’ It was the topic that Gays Mills resident Bob Lomas had been waiting for.
“First of all, I came to receive my shovel,” Lomas said.
It was a reference to a comment made by Gays Mills Director of Public Works Jim Chellevold at the last board meeting.
Chellevold had contended that keeping the area around a fire hydrant shoveled was the responsibility of the property owner. He told the board then that he would deliver a snow shovel during the next snowstorm to the property owner who had taken issue with the idea that shoveling snow around a fire hydrant was the property owner’s responsibility.
Update Chick-Fil-A in Lindale will open Tuesday, January 26 for drive thru and carry out service only. Guests can use the Chick-Fil-A app for contactless ordering and payment according to Joshua Johnson, independent franchised Owner and Operator for Chick-Fil-A Lindale/North Tyler.
Original Story
My hometown of Lindale is getting all grown up and stuff. I mean, areas that were once just empty fields are now booming business locations or subdivisions with nice houses. Now, Chick-Fil-A is coming to Lindale. This is big time for my hometown.
I was born and raised in Lindale. My parents still live in the same house I grew up in on Legion Hills Road. To see the growth just in their area of blacktop roads is surprising. What once was cow pasture across the road is now lined with homes. Empty fields further down the road are now full of nice homes.
Bar licenses are approved pending sale Gays Mills
GAYS MILLS - It was a relatively short meeting of the Gays Mills Village Board on Monday, Jan. 11, but several important issues were addressed.
In new business, the board approved the Alcohol Beverage License Application of Michael Ehde for the M and M Bar for Class ‘B’ Beer & Liquor at 312 Main Street–pending the final sale of J&Js on Main Street to Ehde scheduled for January 18.
A motion to approve the license application was made by village trustee Aaron Fortney. It was seconded by Larry McCarn and passed by the board.
