Article content I’m talking to busy, charming Rick Nelson, longtime curator of the Old Mill Heritage Centre in Kagawong on Manitoulin Island. The museum has become an established, wonderful place to spend time and to learn the history of Billings Township and other parts of Manitoulin. Prior to it being designated a museum, that portion of the Old Mill had been the centre for community social events, but after the Park Centre was built up the street, public events switched to that establishment. When Rick became curator in the summer of 2007, the Old Mill building was empty except for the municipal office and art gallery sections. The building was ready for a new purpose.
