Platinum Skies to hold open event for Chapters development

TAKE a closer look inside the new independent-living apartments, cottages and houses in Salisbury. The homes, which are part of Platinum Skies development just off Wilton Road, will be available to view and purchase during an open week next month. The public can take a closer look at the shared-ownerships homes available in the Chapters independent-living village off Wilton Road during a special event taking place from Monday, May 3 to Sunday, May 9. Enhanced Covid-safe measures will be in place for the benefit of visitors and the Platinum Skies team and places must be booked in advance. Chapters features a host of one, two and three-bedroom purpose-built apartments, as well as two and three-bedroom detached and semi-detached new build houses and restored Victorian cottages, which are available to people aged 55 and over.

FINCH House will be restored to its original grandeur as the final part of a £60million affordable retirement living village. The Grade-II listed 19th century listed building is part of the former Old Manor Hospital site purchased by Bournemouth-based developers, Affordable Housing and Healthcare Group (AHH). In line with planning permission approved by Wiltshire Council, Finch House is being restored to the original grandeur of the property, which formed part of the former Old Manor Hospital site. Finch House is being converted into 21 retirement apartments which will benefit from private communal gardens, featuring a replacement of the property’s original greenhouse.

Structurally unsound Finch House facade pulled down

Finch House construction work THE facades of Finch House have been pulled down after being identified as structurally unsound and in need of demolition . The work has been seen to be taking place over the last few days, and the council says all work is being carried out with planning consent. Councillor Toby Sturgis, Wiltshire Council Cabinet Member for Spatial Planning and Development Management, said a conservation officer has been in contact with the site owners AHH and they have confirmed that they are implementing the 2019 planning consent and that the current work is being overseen by conservation-accredited engineers, Mann Williams.
