Virtual Home Tour Announced in Old Mandeville

My New Orleans 04/06/2021 MANDEVILLE, La (press release) – After making the painful but reasonable decision to cancel the 2020 and 2021 Mother’s Day Home Tours because of Coronavirus concerns, the Old Mandeville Historic Association board has found a way to provide an alternative to our supporters: we will be hosting a virtual tour of four historic homes in May 2021. Planning has begun for the Old Mandeville Historic Association Virtual Home Tour. This tour of homes in Old Mandeville will be available for online viewing for three weeks, beginning Sunday, May 9, 2021. Four private homes in the historic district have welcomed our videography team for prerecorded interview tours. Each 20-30 minute tour focuses on the home through the eyes of the owner: the architecture, the renovation process, the artwork and collections, the landscape, the house’s history. Each tour will be as unique as the home and the homeowner featured.

LAS CRUCES – A group of businesses will be moving into the lot next to Pecan Grill and Brewery, on the corner of Lohman Avenue and Telshor Boulevard. A sign for Prestige Development Group out of El Paso was placed near the dirt lot recently. It lists Bubba’s 33, Another Broken Egg Café, Signet Jewelers and Sleep Number as businesses that will open soon. Bubba’s 33 is a chain of sports bars founded by Kent “Bubba” Taylor, founder of Texas Roadhouse. According to its website, Bubba’s 33 is a combination of “a family-friendly atmosphere and a garage bar.” Their first location opened in Fayettesville, North Carolina, in May 2013.

My New Orleans Event To Feature Artist Popups, Local Cuisine, Live Music and More! 02/22/2021 MANDEVILLE, La (press release) – Old Mandeville Shop Local Saturday is returning in the Spring of 2021! The event, which is hosted by the Old Mandeville Business Association (OMBA) and its member businesses, will feature dozens of artist pop-ups, food vendors, live music and more at local businesses on Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The activity will take place outside of businesses on and around Girod Street, stretching from the Mandeville Trailhead to Lakeshore Drive – about 6 city blocks. The Old Mandeville business community joined together to host the first Shop Local Saturday in December of 2020 as a way to support local commerce and give merchants a much needed boost during the holiday season.
