Milwaukees air and water show is returning thanks to a sponsorship deal announced this morning. The show was postponed last summer because of a lack of money. Pete zervakis explains how its been revived. A donation from wsb means the aws will again draw some 400 thousand people here to milwaukees lake front the announcement came this morning downtown. Because Waterstone Bank saved the aws we can continue with our mission military. And providing free entertainment on the lakefront. It wasnt possible last year. Dozens of police have closed off streets in the center of Du Quoin where they are on scene investigating an incident. Illinois State Police said this is an active scene and people should avoid the area.
GREEN RIVER The Green River City Council will need to decide whether or not to accept a $50,000 bid on Tracts B and C of the Old Lincoln School property or rebid the project at a later date.
On Tuesday, the Council will meet at its regularly-scheduled meeting at 7 p.m. at city hall. One of the items up for review is the purchase of the Old Lincoln School Tracts B and C.
The Council decided to look for a new buyer after New Peak Construction Company recently informed the city that it is no longer wanted to pursue the development of tracts B and C of the Lincoln School property. During a previous meeting, Council authorized city staff to advertise the invitation for bid for the sale of the tracts.
