The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is yet to pay some of its ad-hoc staff members who participated in the 2023 general elections in the Agege local government area of Lagos State, months after the polls. Some of the staff members, who expressed their displeasure to SaharaReporters on Sunday, urged the electoral umpire to pay them without further delay. Some of them said they regretted participating in the polls.

The Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Sunday said it has channeled 70 percent of its 2021 budget towards the completion of the East-West highway dualisation project.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Dr. Babayo Ardo disclosed this during the inspection of the East-West road at Section IV (Eket By pass Dual Carriage Way and Onne/Eket-Oron road) in Akwa Ibom State, on Friday May 21, 2021.
He said that the Ministers are both working round the clock to ensure the completion of the East West road, emphazing that about 70 per cent of the Ministry’s budget of 2021 will be channeled to the project for the benefit of the Niger Delta region.

Alhaji Ganiyu Egunjobi the Executive Chairman Agege Local Government Area has renamed the popular Old Ipaja Road in Agege, after Sen. Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos State.
Egunjobi announced the new name during the official inauguration of Agege Pen Cinema Bridge on Friday by Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Newsmen report that the Agege Pen Cinema Flyover project started in 2017, under the administration of former Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode.
According to him, as a form of gratitude, all stakeholders including councilors resolved to rename the Old Ipaja Road as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road, while Dopemu Road in Agege be renamed after Sanwo-Olu.
