Drying out and clearing skies lead to a picturesque Friday, but another storm system is on the way for the weekend and that will bring rain and the possibility of snow for some. Meteorologist Jack Maney has your Storm Track 3 forecast.
A slow moving storm system is set to bring multiple days of moisture to Kansas, especially to the west where it also will be cold enough for wintry weather to be a possibility. Meteorologist Jack Maney has the details in your Storm Track 3 forecast.
At this moment, we are anticipating the highest snowfall totals to be in the middle of the state. Some areas from Great Bend to Pratt to Dodge City could see over 6" of snowfall. Closer to the Wichita metro, anywhere from 4" to 6" can be expected. There is a very tight gradient in totals across southcentral Kansas as it will all come down to temperatures.
A stronger, more potent wave of snowfall will track across the state come Saturday. Snowfall will begin in western Kansas during the early morning and track east throughout the day. This will add to the snowfall that will already be coating western Kansas.
