UK government creates pipeline of growth for tech SMEs in Nigeria The UK government is providing support to 10 start-ups to receive capacity building training, mentorship, and pitch to industry experts and government partners. From: 10 June 2021 Designed to empower early-stage Nigerian start-ups that are solving challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK government, in January through the UK-Nigeria Tech Hub launched it’s iNOVO Accelerator Programme. This programme is for 10 early stage start-ups building innovative solutions to tackle the challenges caused by COVID-19 across the Education, Agriculture and Health sector in Nigeria. In partnership with StartupBootcamp Afritech and Ventures Platform as implementing partners, this 3-month virtual programme afforded the top 10 selected start-ups an opportunity to receive capacity building and learn start-up training, mentorship and support to scale, their products and business models rapidly.

UK to Support Nigerian Female Tech Entrepreneurs

The UK Government, through its UK-Nigeria Tech Hub, has launched a Green Tech Programme, which will support 30 Nigerian female green-tech entrepreneurs with 12 weeks coaching sessions with industry experts. The coaching sessions is expected to boost the capacity of the entrepreneurs, as well as the likelihood of the enterprises to scale and become more sustainable businesses. The Hub, in collaboration with Future Females as the implementing partner, has taken this next step as part of its pledge to help drive clean, resilient and inclusive recoveries in Nigeria, shaping the low carbon economy of the future that will create new jobs, attract green investment and protect the environment for future generations.
