Channels Television     The General Manager of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Olajide Oduyoye says the motorist who knocked a police officer over a bridge in Lagos will be charged for attempted murder. A viral video that made the rounds on Thursday showed a sports utility vehicle tipping a police officer off a bridge into a canal while trying to escape arrest. Reacting to the incident while appearing as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Oduyoye revealed that the driver, Sunday Okodo, has been charged to court with two counts of attempted murder and traffic violation. The LASTMA GM said the police inspector identified as David Zapaina, has been discharged from the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) By Thu Feb 25 2021 The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has commenced an investigation into cases of extortion levelled against its personnel on traffic duty by drivers and other road users. The investigation follows a video of officials of LASTMA collecting N11, 300 at Agege which had gone viral on social media. General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olajide Oduyoye, promised that those found to have been involved in the extortion of the victim would be dealt with according to the state criminal laws. Oduyoye disclosed that the agency has commenced investigation into extortion claims contained in a viral post on Facebook by a Lagos motorist accusing some LASTMA officials of extorting N11,300 from him at one of the zonal commands in Agege.
