Safiya Mckenzie used to take day trips to London as a child, but when she walked past Somerset House, she didn’t see it as a place that reflected her background. “The last thing that came to mind was my own heritage,” she recalls. “The physical space itself echoes British imperial power.”

When we launched our Extra Nice membership last November, we explained how part of its mission was to help diversify our industry and support young creatives. One of its key pillars is the Extra Nice Fund, a pot of money that we’ll be putting each year towards meaningful creative projects focused on rectifying the lack of diversity in the creative industry. 2020 without a doubt has been an immense year of change. Without stating the obvious, it’s also been a unique year for us at It’s Nice That, and thankfully in a positive way too.
