Tgsds and here, here is the thing that shaped the trade more than anything else altogether. This tick, a lovely little creature, and then it harbored a three micron large protozoan, a tiny Little Critter inside the belly of this tick. Now, this tick thrived in the southern regions of the United States, in the southern portions of texas but also in mississippi and louisiana, georgia, florida, and what this tick would do, it latches on to the cattle. It would latch onto deer and horses as well, and then it would release this protozoan into the bloodstream of the cattle. In the south, the long horns and the cherokee cattle both developed immunities to this tick. The mothers milk gave those calves enough immunity where they could survive. They would be they would be touched by this disease, but they would survive it and grow into adulthood.
