Court remands man over alleged theft of goat in Ilorin

A Magistrates’ Court in Ilorin on Monday remanded one Habeeb Yusuf at Oke-kura Correctional Centre, Ilorin for allegedly stealing a goat.
The police arraigned the defendant on a two-count charge of criminal trespass and theft.
The Magistrate, Olaolu Muyiwa said he remanded the defendant pending the completion of investigation on the case.
Muyiwa adjourned the case until March 22 for mention.
Earlier, the Prosecuting Counsel, Insp. Zacheaus Folorunsho, alleged that the defendant was caught in the act in Adeta area of Ilorin.

An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court, on Tuesday, ordered the remand of a dismissed personnel of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Tokunbo Ajisafe, accused of defrauding one Raji Jimoh of N673,000.
The prosecution counsel, Mr Kehinde Ajide, told the court that the defendant had presented himself as the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to the complainant.
Ajide said the dismissed personnel promised to help the complaint secure employment in the Corps and on the pretext collected varying amounts of money from him on different occasions.
According to him, when the matter was reported, investigation conducted by the Anti Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), revealed that Ajisafe had been dismissed from the corps since 2007.
iPhone theft sends 22-year old man to jail

Clinton committed the offence on November 18, 2020, around 11 a.m. at Mayfair area in Ile-Ife.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Sunday Osanyintuyi, told the court that the convict stole one iPhone 8plus mobile phone, valued at N166,000 belonging to Adediwura Ogunleye.
He added that the convict also fraudulently obtained N50,000 from one Shittu Samuel and pretended to use the money
to pay house rent for him which he failed to do.
The prosecutor said the convict stole and fraudulently converted the N50,000 to his own use.
The offence committed contravened Sections 383, 390 (9) and 419 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
