Shola Soyele Updated May 15, 2021 Chairman of the Lagos State Judicial Panel, Justice Doris Okuwobi, hands over a cheque to Bolanle Amudalat Kareem and her lawyer, Aderemi Aka on May 15, 2021. The Lagos State Judicial Panel on Restitution for victims of SARS has again given out cheques to more victims of police brutality. At the panel’s sitting on Saturday, two victims were awarded the sum of N11 million as compensation. With the new compensations, the panel has now given out a total sum of N68. 25 million to 12 petitioners. In the petition of late Rasheed Olanrewaju Kareem, his widow was awarded the sum of N10m for the extra judicial killing.

A Nigerian man has reportedly stabbed his girlfriend to death over her refusal to stop prostituting. Narrating his side of the story, Michael Ikechukwu revealed that prior to the death of his lover, they had a heated argument concerning her going out to hustle (prostitute) considering his plans to marry her. But in an attempt to scare her to stay calm, he broke a mirror on the ground and a piece of it shattered into her right rib. âWhen I asked where she was going, she said I shouldnât ask her. I locked the door, preventing her from leaving. âShe started shouting at the top of her voice that I should open the door and that I should not ask her where she was going, since I knew she was a hustler,â he said.

Man kills commercial sex worker he planned to marry

TODAY March 13, 2021 The shout for help from an apartment at 11, Abuja street, Alaba Rago, off Mile 2 Badagry expressway, Lagos jostled residents who rushed to know what was happening. Writhing in pain was 38-year-old Chinyere Orji, with a sharp object later discovered to be a broken piece of mirror which pierced into the right side of her ribs. Her 27-year-old live-in lover, Michael Ikechukwu, was alleged to have stabbed her during a quarrel, last Monday. Unfortunately, she died before being rushed to the hospital.
