The first phase of the plan began with the reconstruction of Adeniji Adele, Oke-Popo/Tapa roads as well as the new Mercy Children’s Hospital. The Lagos Island Area North Action Plan is a product of visionary leadership that is committed to building an enduring legacy for coming generations. The execution of the project started with the inauguration of an Inter-Ministerial Committee, comprising the Ministries of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Works and Infrastructure, Environment and Water Resources and Transportation.

•New Hospital to be in 7-Storey, Operates on IPP •Governor Kicks off Massive Rehabilitation of Adeniji Adele Road, Two Other Streets Massey Street Children Hospital – the century old secondary health facility on the Lagos Island and a birthplace of prominent Lagosians – is now to be upgraded and relocated to a convenient site. The single-storey 85-bed paediatrics facility, established in 1914, is currently overstretched to meet the care demands of children because of the increasing number of patients it receives daily; the inadequacy prompted the State Government’s move to upgrade the hospital in order to meet the needs of the residents.
