Information covered use of UAVs in recent years and individuals involved in development, report says; Israeli officials have been highlighting drones as growing threat
The US mounted pressure on Iran on Friday by slapping sanctions on Iranian drone programme. This move from US Treasury has come ahead of resumption of negotiations over country's nuclear programme.
US Treasury said Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps have used lethal unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to attack US forces and international shipping in the Gulf region.
"The drones have also been supplied to Hezbollah, Hamas, and Yemen's Houthis, and have also been seen in Ethiopia, "where the escalating crisis threatens to destabilize the broader region," the Treasury said.
