Santa Rosa police are investigating two acts of vandalism that occurred early Saturday morning, one of which involved the former home of a witness in the Derek Chauvin trial in Minneapolis. That home in West Santa Rosa was vandalized with a pig’s head on the front porch and splattered blood on the front of the house. Police suspect the vandals targeted the house because it was the former property of Barry Brodd, who recently testified for the defense in the Chauvin trial. Less than an hour later, a large hand statue in front of the Santa Rosa Plaza mall was vandalized with a similar substance, suspected to be animal blood. A sign was also left in front of the statue which had a picture of a pig and read “Oink Oink.” Police are currently trying to identify the suspects which had similar descriptions of dressed in all black.
