They have to wait that long for bart to repair these cars. And they have some brandnew cars on the way but they cant get here soon enough. Is there a concern these new cars could experience the same type of problems . Reporter we asked bart that about an hour ago. At this point they say theres no way to know. Im assuming not, but again i dont want to speculate. These are new cars that have new Propulsion Systems so they shouldnt have the issue that were seeing with these old Propulsion Systems. Theres no way to know until the bart cars do arrive. Cristina rendon, thanks. Needless to say the situation object bart is frustrating for commuters. Today is the second day of bus bridges. Even though buses are traps porting people as quickly as possible, commuters say its taking them longer to transfer on and off the buses. It was a smooth ride, but it was probably an extra 15 minutes from pittsburg to bart. I couldnt believe it. But theres nothing we can do about it. Thats how i get back and
Ever since this problem started yesterday. Those bus bridges are connecting people. It has been a very confusing and inconvenient morning for commuters, thankfully, that rush hour has slowed down around this noontime. But the problem started about two weeks ago, at the west oakland station. Cars over there were travelling over a section of track and experiencing some sort of power surge. That power surge was burning out the Propulsion Systems to specific cars, and just yesterday, about 50 cars were damaged here in north concord. Bringing the total number of damaged cars to more than 100 that need to be repaired. Fwen, bart has no idea again, bart has no idea why this is happening in the first place. Theyre the flying in engineers and getting help from pg e engineers to get to the bottom of it. We need to get to the bottom of this, we cant allow Something Like this to continue to impact the car count, however, is going to be something were dealing with probably for weeks, fewer cars, th
Hi, everyone. Im frank mallicoat. Im michelle griego. The train [ signal breakup ] [ please stand by ] [ no audio ] reporter this happened in between the west oakland 12th and lake merritt stations. Thats the cross where all trains converge. Getting around it was a mess. People had to switch trains and get around and endure long delays all day long. The problem was a broken component of the mechanism that switches the train. Their initial preliminary findings is that something struck this receiver coil and damaged it. We still dont know what. It could be a train, a maintenance vehicle, equipment, crew members, so we need to figure out exactly what struck this coil and damaged it. Reporter bart crews found the problem right before the peak morning commute in the earlymorning hours until about 9 30 this morning tried to fix this piece right away. It made the morning commute a nightmare. The fix took longer because of new bart safety protocols for workers on the tracks. They had to make s

Richmond to San Francisco line. The agency says it just finished those repairs within the past halfhour. Passengers said it was a frustrating morning with little word on how long the delays would last. You just stand here waiting for an hour without any real indication when the trains will be moving. Finally waited around for like 30 minutes, got on b. A. R. T. And the train was canceled and turned back around. Now im not even sure if we get on the train in three minutes if thats gonna happen again. When b. A. R. T. Is not working sometimes people head to the cars.
