Including Second Degree assault on a Police Officer and child abuse. On this Ash Wednesday the oldest catholic parish in colorado is picking up the pieces after an overnight fire. It happened at our lady of guadalupe in conejos in the san luis valley. The parish was founded 162 years he ago and the church was videoed in our spanish Heritage Church last october. The fire appears to have started in the back of the church added onto the building. There was another fire 90 years ago to the day at this church. Parishioners told us last fall the church means so much to them. Its just inspiring. Its inspiring and so thats how i look at our lady of Guadalupe Church here. Its a special church for everyone in the community. Special, incredibly beautiful.
