The average sale price for a single-family home in the region was $225,361 in March, up only 0.9% from a year before, according to listing-service data.
Across the region, sales of new and previously owned homes rose 10.4% from January, reflecting seasonal trends. But transactions were off by 13.2% from a year before, according to MLS Now, a listing service that reports on 18 counties.
Purchases slipped almost 42% from December across the 18-county area that regional listing service MLS Now tracks. Meanwhile, new listings failed to keep pace with last year's levels, exacerbating inventory woes.
