Snehal Choudhury of Jackson High School and Grant Daly of Green High School are among the 46 Believe in Ohio Statewide STEM Scholarship recipients this year.
Each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship at attend any Ohio college, university, post-secondary career center, or vocational school.
Funded by the State of Ohio through the Department of Higher Education and operated as a program of The Ohio Academy of Science, Believe in Ohio is a Student STEM Innovation and Scholarship Program that helps prepare students for the future by increasing their engagement in the learning process through STEM and entrepreneurship. Scioto County students recognized for academic achievement and community service

COLUMBUS – Two students from Scioto County were among the 74 Ohio Connections Academy (OCA) students to be recognized for their outstanding academic achievement and service to the community.
During a virtual ceremony on Ohio Connections Academy’s LiveLesson virtual classroom, Sarah Hooper, a sophomore from Wheelersburg, was among the 46 OCA students in grades 10 through 12 who were inducted into the National Honor Society. To qualify students must have been enrolled with OCA for at least one semester and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.4 or better. In addition, the student must demonstrate a history of leadership experience by participating in school or community service activities and submit letters of recommendation from current and former teachers as well as from other adults.
Fruchey, Gossard inducted into honor societies
LIMA Two Ohio Connections Academy students from Allen County were inducted into the National Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society in May. Sophomore Emma Fruchey, of Lima, was one of 46 Ohio Connections Academy students inducted into the National Honor Society, while sixth-grader Andrew Gossard, of Delphos, was one of 28 OCA students inducted into the National Junior Honor Society. The Ohio Connections Academy is a tuition-free, online public school for K-12 students.
