i speak to you as somebody that went through the public education system, the high school that i graduated from is rated f by the ohio board of education. i m somebody that is an ivy league graduate and i will admit number 1 that was not admitted based on affirmative action by anyway, shape or form but number 2, there were things that i was not prepared for by the time i got to that ivy league. i had to work harder. i think that this is sort of the unspoken thing that a lot of the advocates for affirmative action on the left don t speak of. it s something that we need to speak of a little bit more frequently. very well-put, rob. i couldn t agree more. jessica, this is where i started this conversation. what we need is we have a school system in crisis all across the country. the data proves it. i honestly can t figure out why this isn t the number 1 topic for the first lady. i understand people say oh, it s because of the teacher s unions.
