for freedom. juneteenth is not something that is just for the united states it s about freedom. and freedom is an important movement in africa as well. definitely. and me being from both places. it only makes sense for me to be out here celebrating this. lots of people back home don t really know about what juneteenth is about. a lot of people in united states don t. part of what we are trying to do is establish what it is supposed to be for everybody in the united states and around the world, you are such a big part of that spirit. we shocked to see the reactions of the crowd? people went nuts. they would ve thought michael jackson was here. we sell our arenas out here. you know it was going to be lit. people are there for you. so when i saw the lineup i was like, i like challenging myself. doing something different sometimes but when the picture
cubans, americans, you name it. it s a natural. let me give you a scenario. one, did just try it. let s say you are having a party. and you play another genre. i don t want to name a genre. but you play a genre. for like 30 minutes. after 30 minutes, just look around. people will be dancing. and switching to afrobeat. i ve seen it it s a transformation. it s amazing to see. it s unexplainable. just happy to finally have people walking up to me like, oh man you guys don t know what you ve done for us. proud to come out and say i m african. thank, you is just amazing to see. part of what we say we want to do is have a global celebration for freedom. and you have kind of brought the global to our celebration
